anyways,mr loo had a sharing about how discontent and unhappy people in Singapore are among other 177 countries who took the survey or something.
i suppose its true that we're all materialistic.
we're discontent because there are just some things we can never get.
and with how fast technology is advancing,its highly likely that the people will change as well.
but in my opinion,being materialistic may not be such a bad thing.
i mean, if people have wants,they need the money to buy them right?
and how do they get the money? by working.duh.
the more they work, with overtime and all, the higher their pay,the better the economy.
usually,we're supposed to feel content with our achievements,maybe we would be at first,but after the cycle repeats over and over again, it'd be a bore,and it'd prolly be meaningless in the end.but we still find the need to work and satisfy our wants.at least this shows that we,singaporeans,are not complacent,and we continue to work for the country,and at the same time,supporting ourselves. sure, we're not easily satisfied, maybe its coz we just want to strive for something better?
Besides,Life isn’t a fairytale. It’s not some magical world where everything just clicks into place. It’s harsh and it’s cruel.We have to face it,and not be content over every single thing.That's just not right.
